Nola Chaters is an award-winning costume designer known for crafting compelling visual narratives through her use of silhouette, colour, and texture. Her work earned the Excellence in Costume Design Award at the 2024 SIMI Film Festival for To Hold The Night and a CAFTCAD Award nomination in 2018 for Trouble in the Garden.

 

Passionate about storytelling through costume, Nola thrives on collaboration and excels at transforming scripts into visually rich, character-driven worlds. Recognised for her adaptability and calm under pressure, she moves seamlessly through fast-paced environments without losing creative focus.

 

Nola's expertise has taken her across Canada and internationally, with credits in the Czech Republic, Australia, and Paraguay reflecting her ease working across cultures and creative contexts.

 

Having worked her way through every role within the costume department, Nola brings a deep understanding of the craft and a strong, grounded leadership style. Her depth of experience and leadership style has earn the trust of fellow costumers enable her to build skilled, knowledgeable crew tailored to each production's needs.

 

Beyond film and television, Nola designs for theatre and actively mentors aspiring costumers investing in the next generation of creative talent.
